Write locally
Create and edit notes offline. Your note library is encrypted on this Mac, while exports you choose to create may be readable.
A quiet place for writing, research, attachments, and the ideas you want close at hand. LeafMemo works locally from the first note, with no account required.
Notarized for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later.

Create and edit notes offline. Your note library is encrypted on this Mac, while exports you choose to create may be readable.
Import Markdown, Obsidian vaults, Evernote ENEX, text, HTML, DOCX, and PDFs with retained originals and visible conversion limits.
Lock selected text with a separate passphrase, then reveal it directly inside the note with a quiet scrambled-text transition. Lock it again with the reverse effect. Attachments remain separate from that passage lock and are identified clearly.
The downloadable alpha centers the local writing experience. Optional connected features do not stand between you and your notes.
A fuller formatting bar, notebook collections, adjustable columns, four note-list views, and eight palettes with Light, Medium, and Dark appearances.
Record audio into a note and use Transcribe to Text to create a transcript on your Mac. Attach images, PDFs, video, and other documents, and export notebooks as PDF, HTML, Markdown, or text.
Saved history, Trash, portable library export, and protected-history recovery provide explicit paths back when you need them.
Local agents and plugins use notebook and operation scopes you control. Access is off until you enable it.

LeafMemo 0.1 alpha (398) for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. The app works offline; optional sync setup is not required.
Build 398 adds a counted, confirmed Empty Trash action, durable deletion records that prevent stale revisions from recreating emptied notes, and safer Trash and Restore actions when another edit is being saved. If you have build 387, install the current build manually once; builds 388 through 397 can update from inside LeafMemo.
